About Brett Ratner

Movie and music-video auteur BRETT RATNER has had his directorial hands on just about every kind of film project in recent years. Best known for the hugely successful Rush Hour series, starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, he made his major Hollywood debut in 1997 with Money Talks, a comedy starring Tucker alongside Charlie Sheen. He has also helped musicians from numerous genres bring their work to the screen, having directed videos for artists as diverse as LL Cool J, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Diddy, the Wu-Tang Clan, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Foxx and Jessica Simpson. His body of work extends to advertising and the printed page as well: He’s the founder of Rat Press, a publishing house that releases out-of-print biographies of legendary actors, books about movie history and more; and, for the recent release of Guitar Hero 5, he directed an ad that was a clever sendup of the famous Tom Cruise air-guitar scene from the 1983 comedy Risky Business. Ratner's commentary, image galleries and other work can be seen at BrettRatner.com.
